Hold on, spring hasn’t quite sprung…

March 19, 2012 By Beverley Glick Leave a Comment

Today the zodiac hits 29 Pisces, i.e. the last gasp of winter before the Vernal Equinox. This marks the start of spring in the northern hemisphere when the whole cycle of life begins again. It’s a very good day to do some clearing out – mentally, physically and spiritually – in order to make space for fresh energy.

Now is the time to make plans, to nurture your vision – but not yet to act on it. Plant a few seeds after the New Moon in Aries on Wednesday, and wait until Mars resumes its forward motion in April to see what green shoots might pop up.

Spend this week doing some ruthless pruning – chuck away any bits of paperwork you don’t need any more, donate some of the books gathering dust on your shelves to a charity shop, do the same with any item of clothing in your wardrobe that you haven’t worn for more than a year.

Remove clutter. Interview every object in your house and ask why it’s there. If it doesn’t have a good reason for being there, get rid of it.

If you’ve been feeling sluggish, go for a walk. Start getting serious about physical activity. This is a big one for me because I’ve let my exercise regime crumble over the winter months. But it’s only now that I feel I have the energy to start moving my body again.

What’s cluttering up your mind? Examine your thoughts. Do they support your vision? If not, let them go and find some new ones that do.

It’s not all go, though. Set aside about 10 minutes every day to rest. That means sitting down in a quiet room on your own and doing nothing. At all. That’s when your best ideas will arise.

I can recommend dropping your awareness into your heart while you rest. That’s how the green shoots will appear.
