I didn’t work at all this week. Which doesn’t mean I did nothing. In fact, I have been very productive this week, but I haven’t earned any money. This is part and parcel of setting myself up as a solopreneur, creating a coaching practice from a standing start.
Much time and money is spent on working out what your brand is, what your niche is, what services you want to offer, and how much you’re going to charge for them. Then you have to find clients. Or rather, clients have to find you.
Then you need to decide on a course of action and when to take it. This is a tricky one. They say timing is everything, but is it really? Sometimes you think it’s the right time to do something, but you can’t see the bigger picture. You do it, it doesn’t work out, you start wondering if you’re a failure. But perhaps you just had to learn a lesson about failure.
The masculine paradigm dictates that we have to go for it, set goals, be proactive, do a “marketing push”, keep on top of things, sell, sell, sell…
The feminine paradigm invites us to sit back, reflect, meditate on our heart’s vision, rest, focus on creating the right conditions for ourselves from the inside out, let things go, trust, trust, trust…
So in the interests of balance, perhaps we need to do a lot more of the feminine stuff before we hit our masculine stride – tuning into our inner wisdom before deciding on a course of action and hitting the accelerator.
I may not have been paid in legal tender for my week’s work, but I do feel I have bolstered my self-worth. There’s been some doing but just as much being. I’m focusing on doing what I love and being who I am, so the money will follow…
